I think the days of the "Gay Bar" are numbered as society assimilates gayness into its straight culture and visa versa. Its not an unusual sight to see same sex couples interacting w friends and lovers all over the place. The same can be said for straight culture in the gayborhood. The reason I choose the Bike Stop as the best Gay Bar is because it is an anachronistic time capsule, along with glory holes and the all night cinemas of how gay men once upon a time had no other choice but to meet in the shadows. It is a dark, fetish-filled, leathery place that is almost exclusively gay and along with the huge draft beers, daddy bear patrons and events such as 'jockstrap night' it looks like they have no intention of ever catering to the straights. Come downstairs and get your motorcycle boots shined if your so inclined.
