I lived in Philly for 4 months last year & mainly trained at Balance Studios in center city. The first thing you notice is how friendly everyone is. I was treated like family. Balance Studios has a lot of great practitioners who develop diverse games. So you can be exposed to everything & find the game that works for you.
Both their day classes & evening classes were awesome with great instruction. Phil Migliarese is a martial arts genius - able to find simple & effective solutions to common problems. His brother Ricardo is a great teacher with a totally different game! Josh & Drew Vogel are Brazilian jiu-jitsu phenom instructors & practitioners as well. Everyone goes the extra distance to help you out.
Balance is the my favorite BJJ school hands-down. Highly recommended!!!
