The Philadelphia Palm, which opened in 1989, was the tenth Palm to open nationwide and since then has been a common meeting place for Philadelphia's most influential. The Palm has managed to give Philadelphia's infamous cheese steaks a run for their money with their fabulous cheesecake, prime beef, jumbo lobsters and authentic Italian entrees in an atmosphere like nowhere else.
Very accommodating: We were celebrating the first night of Chanukah there two years ago and I asked if they could surprise (everyone else) us with latkes/potato pancakes (which were not on the menu). The man I spoke with said, "we've got a box grater, sure, we can make latkes!" It was a great night - and the steak was wonderful, but we expected that.
