Storybook Musical Theater operates under a Theater for Young Audiences contract with Actors' Equity Association. Founded in 1913, Equity represents more than 45,000 actors and stage managers in the U.S. Equity negotiates wages and working conditions, providing a wide range of benefits, including health and pension plans Storybook Musical Theater is a non-profit,tax-exempt [501 (c)(3)] professional theater under contract with Actors Equity Association; Theater for Young Audiences. The company founded in 1992 provides children of all backgrounds an opportunity to experience quality theater production. Our mission is the cultural enrichment and education of children and their families by introducing them to and developing a life-long appreciation for musical theater through original adaptations of folk tales, and children's literature. Starting small at two theaters, Storybook venues seated audiences from 200 to 400 people. The popularity of Storybook has grown and so has the size of the theaters. Each theater now holds over 400 people.
