Newtown Arts brings quality theatre into the community with style, class and heart. A nonprofit theatre company formed in 1983, our proceeds fund scholarships to students pursuing higher education in the arts. We now present six shows a year in a classic theatre building that dates back to 1883.
In 2006 we presented the first live plays since 1934 at the historic Newtown Theatre, re-energizing the stage and reconnecting the community with live theatre. Newtown Arts Company takes pride in giving audiences great shows in this wonderful theatre showplace. Each year audiences have raved about the quality of shows and about having a great theatre group in their midst.
We're proud to have been named among the top five theatre groups in the Delaware Valley (and the highest ranked in Bucks County) in myfoxphilly's HOT LIST two years running!
The final three shows of our 2009 Season feature the historic pageant celebrating 325 years of Newtown history "Sweet Land" August 20-26, the mystery of "Laura" Oct 15-21 and the delightful musical "Meet Me in St. Louis" December 3-9.
Come see some entertaining theatre on the stage of the oldest movie house in the U.S.A.! (That's a fact!!!)
I just saw The Music Man at the Newtown-Arts Company on State St. Best stage production of the Movie. Everyone was cast perfectly for the characters/energetic and talented group. I can't wait to see the next performance.

Love this! Vote to help get them the recognition they deserve! Great people, nice shows, and proceeds raised are paid out in scholarships for high school seniors who want to study further in the arts! I wish I could vote more than once!
