Newtown Arts brings quality theatre into the community with style, class and heart. A nonprofit theatre company formed in 1983, our proceeds fund scholarships to students pursuing higher education in the arts. We now present six shows a year in a classic theatre building that dates back to 1883.

In 2006 we presented the first live plays since 1934 at the historic Newtown Theatre, re-energizing the stage and reconnecting the community with live theatre. Newtown Arts Company takes pride in giving audiences great shows in this wonderful theatre showplace. Each year audiences have raved about the quality of shows and about having a great theatre group in their midst.

We're proud to have been named among the top five theatre groups in the Delaware Valley (and the highest ranked in Bucks County) in myfoxphilly's HOT LIST two years running!

The final three shows of our 2009 Season feature the historic pageant celebrating 325 years of Newtown history "Sweet Land" August 20-26, the mystery of "Laura" Oct 15-21 and the delightful musical "Meet Me in St. Louis" December 3-9.

I always enjoy Newtown Arts productions- whether I'm in them, working backstage on them or sitting in the audience! Not only are the shows quality, their scholarship fund is fantastic and this year they started their own Dramafest to carry on the tradition that the Bucks County Playhouse started of providing local schools the chance to perform for each other and be adjudicated by theater professionals.
