Nominated for: BEST Coffee Shop
Another coffee shop? No, not at all! Burlap and Bean is a family owned and operated coffee house. What is the difference? Well for starters, the ambiance. You walk in through the front door and the first thing you want to do is flop onto their over stuffed leather couch and take off your shoes. If you are a regular, you might even find one of the friendly staff bringing you your slippers. From your comfortable seat, you will notice that the walls have been richly painted with the warm colors of fall; burnt sienna, dark chocolate and a spicy mustard. Sit back, take a deep breath in, and let the fragrant aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans (roasted on the premises) waif over you. Can you feel the stress of your day melting away?
This family-owned spot prefers to be called a coffeehouse, with emphasis on both syllables. The coffee is fair trade and roasted on premises, and the space is designed for comfort, with overstuffed leather chairs, free wifi, and live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The menu features seasonal drinks — sticky bun latte, white hot chocolate — and sweets alike keeps regulars coming back.
