Nominated for: BEST Cupcakes
Brown Betty Dessert Boutique is named after our mother/grandmother, Elizabeth Ruth Hinton (friends and family call her either Betty or Liz though). Every Sunday when we'd go to visit her there'd be something already baked: hard tack (a country word for biscuits), apple pies (always two at a time) or those famous poundcakes. Back in the day Elizabeth was known for her high, moist poundcakes. Every one loved them! Elizabeth's love and talent for baking is our inspiration. While she doesn't bake as much as she used to - we still remember how good it all used to taste.
perfect balance of savory sweetness. none of that super sugary icing so many other places have. the hattie don't play chocolate peanut butter and betty's buttermilk (mmm...lemon) are amazing!

They sampled their cupcakes at their grand opening, and they were the most delicious cupcakes I've ever tasted. Their red velvet was out of this world good.

The cupcakes are to ridiculously good (I'm partial to the red velvet... my family is from North Carolina, so I am a very tough judge when it comes to red velvet... but there's is FABULOUS)! I special ordered cakes here for my sister's baby shower and my niece's christening... the only thing people left either event talking about??...the CAKES! Absolutely delicious, beautiful products every time. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Long live Brown Betty's! :)
